Ottawa's little ice storm 09

Date Posted: December 27, 2009

Photographer: Michelle Valberg

The light came out late in the day today and I ran out with my camera.  I had been house bound and so I didn't know how much ice was on the trees, I was delighted to say the least.  I initially photographed the ice around the house with my macro lens.  I then decided to head out to the back roads behind the airport.  The sunset was beautiful and certainly didn't last long.  Here are some of my shots...

"Michelle I just read your moving article in the photo news. Not only was I touched by your photo's but the whole article on how you where able to collect all the sports equipment for our northern cousins.

I am disabled now and unable to play hockey anymore. I do have some equipment still in very good condition and I have tried to give it away without success. If there is anyway I could send it north I would be more than happy to give to someone who could put it to good use.

I am also into photography but have to come up with different ways of getting into nature and enjoy what nature has provided. That is why your photo's bring so much joy to me.

Please keep up the excellent work bringing so much joy into my life and I am sure many others.

Looking forward to acquiring your book.

Thanks again and keep up your good work.

Don"
